Introducing the "Back to Basics" Framework
We're excited to share Hampshire County Council's "Back to Basics" framework with you! This fantastic initiative is all about supporting our children's well-being and development by focusing on the essentials of family life. It offers practical tips and resources to help strengthen family bonds, improve parenting skills, and build a supportive community around our kids.

By embracing the "Back to Basics" framework, our school aims to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We encourage all parents and caregivers to check out the resources and join in the programs and workshops available. Let's work together to give our children the best start in life! This term our school is particularly focusing on the 'Connect' strand of the framework. This means we're putting extra effort into helping children build strong, positive relationships with their peers, teachers, and families. We believe that by fostering these connections, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued and understood.
Here are a few tips for 'connecting' with your child. They may seem obvious but our busy, screen-filled, modern life means it's easy for us to forget some of the fundamentals from time to time.
-
Spend Quality Time Together: Dedicate time each day to do something fun with your child, whether it's playing a game, reading a book, or just chatting about their day. This helps build a strong bond and shows them that you value their company.
-
Listen Actively: When your child talks to you, give them your full attention. Put away distractions like phones or TV, and really listen to what they have to say. This makes them feel heard and understood
-
Share Meals: Eating together as a family is a great way to connect. Use meal time to talk about everyone's day, share stories, and enjoy each other's company. It creates a routine and a sense of togetherness.
-
Get Involved in Their Interests: Show interest in what your child loves to do. Whether it's a hobby, a sport, or a favourite TV show. Participating in their interests can help you connect on a deeper level.
